Why do we solicit the opinions and half-baked analyses of foreign observers when they aren't even stakeholders in this political problem?
If and when the dust of this political war settles, these international media outfits can just as easily offer a half-meant apology and say, "We thought Duterte was going to be a dictator as your VP had said. So, we helped you remove him. It turns out that he wasn't but he certainly had all the capacity to be a dictator."
And we, the Filipinos, will be left to pick up the pieces of a broken republic.

A speck of dust.
Thanks for allowing me to see the world in a blade of grass."

"The intelligent doesn't behave intractably for the sake of being disagreeable. Conversely, no intelligent person will ever subscribe to every idea expressed by others simply for the sake of being agreeable. Ideas clash. Ideas overlap. Ideas cohere." ~Bryan Ng Co, July 25, 2017
"The most difficult problem you encounter today
Will be a mere fraction of its size by tomorrow
The biggest event of this year will
Have become a mere story by the next.
Each of us is a collection of stories.
Our lives, our works, our victories, our misfortunes
They all become part of the stories we tell
When tomorrow comes, when the new day dawns."

"The season of Christmas may find people generous with their gifts. But this season of giving is also a season of greed. It is a time to be acutely aware of who's not home and what we do not have. Between the fragility of life and the commercialism of Christmas, between what we have and what we don't, between giving and receiving, may all of you find it in your heart to be more generous to those who are wanting and needing. And love those you have taken for granted. Your mom, your dad, your siblings, your spouse or even that pesky neighbor. This is, after all, in keeping with the spirit of the season" ~Bryan Ng Co
