Cyndi Campbell - Peace and Happiness

"So many times people who are single find peace and happiness... People who are in a relationship often did it for the right reason but some how it changed... The love is still there but the in love has been replaced with routine or neglect ... Humans seek what they need... If you are in a relationship be sure to check on your partner, make them feel desired....That is a two way piece.. Communicate.. Don't have them seek what they once had in you.. People think it's easy to choose but often times ... People loved where they are and did try to reach out only to be turned away... Don't be surprised by the end results... Save what you have in front of you... Or leave... Peace and happiness shouldn't be taken for granted." ~Cyndi Campbell

MY BEST PICK FOR TODAY: from Ralph Waldo Emerson on Companion

Watch a woman put on head phones, close her eyes, and have her life changed by a lyric. See a bad moment flipped upside down by a well timed joke. "Be true to the light that is deep within you. Hold on to your joy for life. Keep good thoughts in your mind and good feelings in your heart. Keep love in your life , and you will find the love and light in everyone.

Be giving , forgiving , patient , and kind. Have faith in yourself. Be your own best friend , and listen to the voice that tells you to be your best self.

Be true to yourself in the paths that you choose. Follow your talents and passions ; don't take the roads others say you must follow because they are the most popular.

Take the paths where your talents will thrive - the ones that will keep your spirits alive with enthusiasm and everlasting joy.

Most of all , never forget that there is no brighter light than the one within you. Keep on being true to yourself. Keep shining your light on others so they will have a reason to smile. Follow your inner light to your own personal greatness , and remember that you are admired and loved just as you are." ~Jacqueline Schiff

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Flood Enters Our Home

From My Favourite Deep Thinker

"Sometimes floodwaters enter our homes, sometimes they enter our lives, soaking, wiping all that we take for granted—our social beliefs, our skillsets, our place in hierarchy of things, our access to resources, our relationships, everything. We are forced to evacuate structures we called home — that which IS and WILL BE— and find ourselves in the relief camps of life. Here we sit stunned by loss, with uncertain days and bewildering tomorrows, at the mercy of strangers and systems beyond our control. Here we sit as refugees from hope, haunted by a yearning for better days.

Here we discover the other side of the world, that which always was. Like the shadow of silence between our words -- emptied of meaning, emptied of intention.

Only some of us get to return home. For others, we have to learn the art of making sea our home." ~Bhavana Nissima

Quotes on JUSTICE

"A soul that is kind and intends justice discovers more than any sophist." ~Sophocles (496 BC-406 BC)

"...... Centuries ago words were written to be a call and a spur to the faithful servants of Truth and Justice. Arm yourselves, and be ye men of valor and be in readiness for the conflict: for it is better for us to perish in the battle than to look upon the outrage of our nation and our alter. As the will of God is in Heaven, even so let it be." ~Sir Winston Churchill

“That's the paradox: the only time most people feel alive is when they're suffering, when something overwhelms their ordinary, careful armour, and the naked child is flung out onto the world. But when that child gets buried away under their adaptive and protective shells—he becomes one of the walking dead, a monster.” ~Ted Hughes

"The only calibration that counts is how much heart people invest, how much they ignore their fears of being hurt or caught out or humiliated. Matthieu Ricard - on perception

"Whenever you perceive any feeling, whether pleasant, unpleasant, or neutral, simply embrace it with your awareness. Feel the breeze passing on your face or the point of contact of your feet with the ground. If the feeling is pleasant, simply be aware of its pleasantness; if it is unpleasant, be aware of its unpleasantness. In the latter case, the sheer awareness of the unpleasantness replaces the reaction of repulsion that usually takes place. If you experience a diffuse feeling of your inner organs, concentrate on that. You may also concentrate on some parts of the body where you may not have any particular sensation at the moment, like your forehead or ears. Become aware of the subtle sense of their presence. Finally, try to investigate the very nature of sensations. Aren’t they just movements of the mind? Isn’t it the same awareness that perceives them all, without being affected by them?" ~Matthieu Ricard

PEARL OF WISDOM: From a Mother to a Daughter

Note: I read this divinely penned letter of a mother to a daughter who is engaged to be married. In most eastern culture, we have this tradition of offering pre-nuptial counselling to children who are set to get married by the parents. This open letter is full of love and wisdom where our young generation can glean inspiration from. As I was reading this, I was deeply moved and wish someone had given me the same indepth advice before I got married. It's so compelling that with the writer's permission and blessing, you my readers will also allow me to share this with you.

Dear Girl,

I cannot advice you on relationships or marriage. There are those who are wiser than me who can and will. Perhaps advice you more than you want to hear.

What I want to tell you is how to keep your relationship to yourself intact and beautiful. Here is the thing, no matter how lovely the marriage or relationship, there comes a time when you miss being with yourself. And then you will be restless, agitated, worried. You may then get upset or sad or angry at your partner.

The root is you did not nourish yourself. And how can you do that?

No matter how much in love you are, no matter how fantastic the honeymoon, take time to practice silence and solitude. In silence, you will come to rest by your side, to sleep with the spirit of your being, to love the person you are.

Pour on yourself kindness for days are not always the same. You may be hurt or you may hurt someone. Teach yourself the art of being water—flowing always. Move on.

Fertilize yourself with confidence. For when confidence is gone, the soil of your being goes limp. How do you do that? Keep challenging yourself with new tasks, new pursuits or increase complexity of whatever you are doing. Put yourself in difficult situations and practice unraveling it. And appreciate yourself when you succeed and forgive when you don’t and try again.

Give yourself the sunlight of love. Your partner may not be always able to do that. They are also on a journey. Learn the art of hugging yourself, to give yourself a treat, to make yourself feel special, to tease and frolic with yourself. And know that is often enough, no matter what others say.

Teach yourself the courage to stand up. If you are mistreated, discriminated, muted, erased, violated, do not be afraid to stand and speak up. Yes, you won’t be liked for that. But if you don’t do it, you won’t like yourself for long. And when you don’t like yourself, you will be restless and upset and sad and agitated.

And if perchance things go south, and you are uncomfortable and unsafe, if I am alive, find me. Don’t suffer it alone.

But for now, my dear, practice silence and solitude, so you may come to rest by your side, to sleep with the spirit of your being, to love the person you are.

And through that walk with your partner, grounded and in joy.

Blessings of Peace always,

Brianna West - time

”There is no designated time for anything in your life. You don’t have to have your first kiss at any certain time, you don’t have to get married in your 20′s and you don’t have to do anything just because other people think it’s best. In fact, you will be much better off if you just do what your heart says. The day you stop caring what other people think is the day their opinions don’t mean anything, because you’re not there to give them weight.” ~Brianna West

"In the end…It’s not about who broke your heart. It’s about who mended it. It’s not about the times you put your self esteem in the hands of others. But instead, the days where you knew your worth. It’s not about those who let you down, but rather those who always held you up.

It’s not about the many people who desired you. It’s about the ones that valued you. In the end it’s not about all the times you were called beautiful, it’s about all the days you felt it." ~Anon

On Letting Go
by Robert Paul Gilles

To "let go" does not mean to stop caring.
It means I can't do it for someone else.

To "let go" is not to cut myself off.
It's the realization that I can't control another.

To "let go" is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To "let go" is not to try to change or blame another.
It's to make the most of myself.

To "let go" is not to care for, but to care about.

To "let go" is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To "let go" is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.

To "let go" is not to be in the middle, arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their own destinies.

To "let go" is not to deny, but to accept.

To "let go" is not to nag, scold, or argue, but instead
to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.

To "let go" is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.

To "let go" is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.

To "let go" is to fear less and to love more.

Thoughts To Ponder: Self-sufficient

"I want to feel it. The sensation of standing on my own two feet. Knowing that there are people willing to be there, but I can handle things on my own. Accepting that I have love around me, but keeping my heart self-sufficient. I need this feeling. I absolutely crave it. Being empowered over my own life. Knowing that I am in control of my own feelings. Understanding that I am not so easily broken. Giving no one the power to hurt me again. I have to feel what it’s like, just to be myself."~Anon
