ANZAC DAY 2024

IN COMMEMORATION
25 April 2024

It's a sad day for me for missing my attendance on this solemn day.  But my heart and thoughts are for all the fallens and for my country, Australia 🇦🇺.

TRIBUTES:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Today, on Anzac Day, we come together to pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Their courage and selflessness will forever be remembered.

Lest we forget.

Featured Quote on SELF-PORTRAIT

"The self-portrait is a reflection of the personality in a visual, physical sense, as a concrete form, a summary of the external characteristics of the artist, but also in a psychological sense, when the self-portrait becomes a mediator of communication with the self, a medium of self-investigation." ~extracted from ERIC,  online Journal

“Nothing you love is lost. Not really. Things, people—they always go away, sooner or later. You can’t hold them, any more than you can hold moonlight. But if they’ve touched you, if they’re inside you, then they’re still yours. The only things you ever really have are the ones you hold inside your heart.” ~Bruce Coville

“One of the risks of being quiet is that the other people can fill your silence with their own interpretation: You’re bored. You’re depressed. You’re shy. You’re stuck up. You’re judgemental. WILLIAM MARTIN - Children

“Do not ask your children to strive for extraordinary lives. Such striving may seem admirable, but it is the way of foolishness. Help them instead to find the wonder and the marvel of an ordinary life. Show them the joy of tasting tomatoes, apples and pears. Show them how to cry when pets and people die. Show them the infinite pleasure in the touch of a hand. And make the ordinary come alive for them.” The extraordinary will take care of itself. ~William Martin (Art: Brandywine Museum of Art) (Book: The Parent's Tao Te Ching

Christopher Chase - Nature and religion

"Most "modern" humans are stuck in a fractured worldview "manufactured" for us by mainstream media, politics, economics and education. We see ourselves as solitary actors forced into competition with each other, disconnected from local community, the Universe and Nature. Everything we do is about survival in the global economic system. For most of us, the economy has replaced Nature and religion, as the "God" of our lives. Disconnected from the larger wholes (we in truth belong to), we have become slaves to an economic machine." ~Christopher Chase
