“For women, getting angry is socially unacceptable, even when the anger is over violence, discrimination, misogyny, and other forms of oppression. Anger is unacceptable because angry women are women in touch with their passion and power, especially in relation to men, which threatens the entire patriarchal order. It’s unacceptable because it forces men to confront the reality of male privilege and women’s oppression and their involvement in it, even if only as passive beneficiaries. Women’s anger challenges men to acknowledge attempts to trivialize oppression with “I was only kidding." And women’s anger is unacceptable to men who look to women to take care of them, to prop up their need to feel in control, and to support them in their competition with other men. When women are less than gracious and good-humored about their own oppression, men often feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, at a loss, and therefore vulnerable." –Allan G. Johnson

"There comes a day, somewhere in the middle of every woman’s life, when Mother Nature herself stands behind us and wraps her arms around our shoulders, whispering 'It’s time'. 'You have taken enough now. It’s time to stop growing up, stop growing older and start growing wiser - and wilder. There are adventures still waiting on you and this time, you will enjoy them with the vision of wisdom and the companionship of hindsight, and you will really let go. It’s time to stop the madness of comparison and the ridicule of schedule and conformity and start experiencing the joys that a life, free of containment and guilt, can bring.' She will shake your shoulders gently and remind you that you’ve done your bit. You’ve given too much, cared too much, you’ve suffered too much. You’ve bought the book as it were and worn the t-shirt. Worse, you’ve worn the chains and carried the weight of a burden far too heavy for your shoulders. 'It’s time', she will say. 'Let it go, really let it go and feel the freedom of the fresh, clean spaces within you. Fill them with discovery, love and laughter. Fill yourself so full you will no longer fear what is ahead and instead you will greet each day with the excitement of a child.' She will remind you that if you choose to stop caring what other people think of you and instead of caring what you think of you, that you will experience a new era of your life you never dreamed possible. ‘It’s time’ she will say… 'to write the ending, or new beginning, of your own story.'" ~Donna Ashworth

"This view that women are somehow inferior to men is not restricted to one religion or belief. Women are prevented from playing a full and equal role in many faiths. Nor, tragically, does its influence stop at the walls of the church, mosque, synagogue or temple. This discrimination, unjustifiably attributed to a Higher Authority, has provided a reason or excuse for the deprivation of women's equal rights across the world for centuries. At its most repugnant, the belief that women must be subjugated to the wishes of men excuses slavery, violence, forced prostitution, genital mutilation and national laws that omit rape as a crime. But it also costs many millions of girls and women control over their own bodies and lives, and continues to deny them fair access to education, health, employment and influence within their own communities.... The truth is that male religious leaders have had -- and still have -- an option to interpret holy teachings either to exalt or subjugate women. They have, for their own selfish ends, overwhelmingly chosen the latter." ~JIMMY CARTER, "Losing My Religion for Equality"

"What a fabulous bunch we are. We’ve known love and life. Had some kids and husbands or not. Lost some people, gained some new ones. Overcome illness and battled through. We’re still here helping each other and learning from each other, cheeering up the sad and congratulating the happy ones. Sharing a few jokes along the way. "WOMEN ARE PRICELESS. A lot of men act like they are doing a woman a favor by asking for her hand in marriage but let's think about this. She changes her name, changes her home, leaves her family, moves in with you, builds a home with you, gets pregnant for You and bears children for you.
Pregnancy destroys her body. She gets fat. Almost give up in the labour room due to the unexplainable pains of childbirth. Even the kids she delivers bear your name till the day she dies.
Everything she does benefits you. So who is really doing who a favour? Dear Men, appreciate your woman today because it is not easy to be a Woman. Being a woman is Priceless!!!! Too bad so many women of today don't even know their values. God Bless The Women!" ~from Emotional Filmtricks

"Women get more beautiful as they grow older. Not less. Female youth is only prized in modern culture because it doesn't represent as much of a threat spiritually to anyone who is frightened of divine feminine power. As women grow and mature, they call in stronger forces of sacred feminine wisdom. They vibrate with the creative power of their stories. They are more of a force to be reckoned with. They see more, know more, feel more. They put up with a lot less bullshit. When women are trained into thinking there is something fundamentally wrong with getting older, and are coerced into spending money, energy and power investing in 'slowing the signs of ageing', an enormous vault of divine love is lost. Just think what would happen if all the women in the world started loving themselves even more with every year that passed. Perhaps a total revolution would occur." ~Yogesh Kumar

"You may laugh and call it crap but in some ways the women of the 1950s and 60s were very happy and satisfied with their lives. I was one, only going back to work when my children were older. “The more I have spoken about feminism, the more I have realised that fighting for women’s rights has too often become synonymous with ‘man-hating.’ If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop. For the record, feminism, by definition, is ‘the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. OTHERS:
JOURNEYS
The smell after rain.
The feeling after crying.
Grass or sand under my feet.
The reward that sometimes comes from trying.
The sound of a second chance.
That freedom when I no longer cared what everybody thinks.
Journeys by myself in quiet.
Watching the grey sky open up and turn pink.
The mystical warmth of a blazing bonfire.
Deep soul-filled conversations at 4am.
Tea stained books and the scent on their pages.
Strutting wild, free and crazy with my friends.
The blue line of the horizon in the far sea.
Flights of birds dancing above my head.
Butterflies and moths at any hour.
That sacred whisper with the moon just before bed.
As she continued to write of the things she daydreamed of and loved,
She felt warm inside and the sky seemed to open up above.
She was finally coming to see that life was a love affair.
How tender could she be with herself, how much could she show self-care?
That had become the new excitement and gentle feeling in her life.
She was finally realising she had incredible power
and could let go of a lot of her strife.
Life was not about achievements,
or about striving to get a pat on the back
from those around her.
It was about loving herself so much so
that it was replicated in the things
and people that surrounded her.
There need be no more striving.
She just had to start making the best choices
that tended to her heart to stop all the draining.
When relationships died it was time to let them go.
She was starting to see that her health of heart was really
the meaning of going with the flow.
She no longer wanted to stress
and now the time had come to let her hair down
so she could breathe
And enjoy this gift of life and truly follow after the things she believed.
There was no point in merely existing and denying all that made her tick.
It had been so long since she lived for herself.
No longer rushing to tick all the boxes and get everything done so quick.
As she pondered on herself
and the things that made her feel alive,
she sighed deeply from her womb,
knowing now to come were the best days of her life.

"She Danced.
She Sang.
She Took.
She Gave.
She Loved.
She Created.
She Dissented.
She Enlivened.
She Saw.
She Grew.
She Sweated.
She Changed.
She Learned.
She Laughed.
She Shed her skin.
She Bled on the pages of her days.
She walked through walls.
She LIVED with Intention."
